June 18, 2015 - First Day of Summer

The purple shirts were for some kind of youth 5k. I got mad at them for a split second before realizing that I was actually encroaching on their turf.

Normally, he looks much cooler than this.

Spencer, next time buy beer we can all enjoy.

Fleet Feet Song
Work - Kelly Rowland

And I finally watched the Tony's

Home Stretch - May 25, 2015

After posting for four years, I find myself needing this kind of digital dumping ground to stay organized. The summer festivals are almost here, and I haven't made a plan as to what neighborhood fest corresponds with which Sounders game or weekend away from town.

And since I haven't been posting anything here, I definitely feel scatter brained.

Part of that is definitely work related. It's been a hard year. Work has been... a struggle. A friend told me recently that he enjoyed his job more this year. It was because he felt his bosses didn't affect 90% of what he did on a daily basis. I feel just the opposite. My schedule is screwed up. That wasn't my choice. And the year got off to a crappy start when I was teaching all periods and coaching a varsity sport. So I think the kids never got into the normal routines that I typically establish. And I share a classroom with someone who lets the kids run wild, so things get moved, lost, or stolen. It's driving me crazy.

Which brings me to now. I took a break from doing this for a month or so. I thought it would let me focus more on things that matter. But when I look back at the past month, it just feels like I haven't been doing anything. Even though I know I have.

My phone has no pictures. I haven't photographed people for weeks.

Lately:

Drew Magary hates commencement speaches. Or loves them. Either way, his are better than 99% of them.

The McTuff Trio plays Seamonster Lounge every Tuesday for free.

Today:
Still gives me chills.

I've been using this drain cleaner with baking soda. But all my pipes are still a little sluggish. You don't really appreciate your plumbing until it starts to act up.

Hey! Those aren't the right color!

It's now showing in the wee hours of the morning on deep cable.
It was the first time I remember watching something with my father, and we were both laughing at the same thing for the same reason.

The GPS on my old phone is broken.

I did not actually run like this.

You would look crazy running like that.

Daredevil is made for me.

The recent Mark Waid run on the book is excellent. In preparation for the series, I've also read some of the Frank Miller classics. Out of everyone I know, I shoudl be the deepest into this series.

Yet, somehow, I'm in last place. EVERYONE I know is telling me to catch up.

And it's so much better than that stupid movie.

Community on Yahoo

There aren't many reasons to start watching a new show in season six. So everyone who cares about this show is already watching it. But this stuff makes me so happy.

Childish Gambino - Sweatpants

Childish Gambino - 3005

I haven't been listening to new music lately.

Just revisiting old favorites.

Anyone listening to anything good?

I found this Klingon Declaration of Independence.

It's still such a strange, ridiculous idea.

Who spends their time doing this stuff?

Microbot Revolt!

My buddy made a game!

With all these little cubes that you use to infect the mainframe and each other.

And SO many dice!

At Chocolate Cafe on 45th.

The upstairs seating really makes this place a great place to spend an afternoon.

And it sounds strange to say this, but they make a strong mocha.

Like, with a ton of chocolate.

And this book is crazy good.

The Leadership team set up jousting at the pep assembly.
They set up WWE style hype videos and everything.
It was a blast.
