Overly Ambitious SIFF Schedule

May 10, 2012
SIFF Schedule
This page will change as I realize that I can't see this many movies and must prioritize.
In chronological order:

Your Sister's Sister
Opening Night Gala.
So I probably won't make it.
($50 a ticket?!?!  No Way!)
The Intouchables
French buddy comedy about a quadriplegic millionaire and his live-in caretaker.
(5/5 FANTASTIC!  Hilarious, surprising and heartwarming. It's playing May 20 at the Egyptian.  Don't miss it.)
The Do-Deca-Pentathalon
Two adult brothers relive their sibling rivalry
Take This Waltz
Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen in an indie drama about infidelity
Fat Kid Rules The World
Matthew Lillard wrote/directed this coming of age movie.
Robot And Frank
Frank Langella and his robot friend.
Overheard 2
Hong Kong movie about financial cloak and dagger.
From the same guys who made the movie "The Departed" was based on.
Sleepwalk With Me
Mike Birbiglia handles his sleepwalking...poorly.
Based on his own true story.
Liberal Arts
Ted from HIMYM as a middle aged professor.
Or, the same role he plays on HIMYM.
Safety Not Guaranteed
Mark Duplass as a guy who wants to go back in time and Audrey Plaza (April from Parks and Rec) as the reporter investigating him.
King Curling
Norway's answer to "The Big Lebowski".
Lola Versus
Mumblecore darling Greta Gerwig as a hard-luck twenty something.
John Dies At The End
Something about a drug that makes you hallucinate, and then kills you at the end.
Price Check
Parker Posey takes over at a corporate supermarket managing company.
Starbuck
A Canadian donates prodigiously to a sperm bank.
Years later, his hundred kids all want to meet him.
Save The Date
Lizzy Caplan, Allison Brie, and Martin Starr in relationship movie.
Free Throw
Students are offered a chance at a scholarship if they win a free throw contest.
We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists
Interviews with the hacker group "Anonymous".
Faces and voices will probably be changed to protect their identities.
The Revisionaries
Documentary about the Texas Textbook Comittee that changes the information allowed in schools.
All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace
A super weird, three-hour, meditation on our dependence on technology
Earthbound
Laser tag and a guy who thinks he's a alien.
Welcome To Doe Bay
Documentary about a small music festival on Orcas Island.
People Like Us
Chris Pine and Elizabeth Banks try to properly distribute an inheritance.
Moonrise Kingdom
Wes Anderson's new movie.
Watch the trailer and fall in love.
Five Star Existence
Another movie that examines our dependence on technology.
Though this one is fictional. And foreign.
Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present
Performance artist Abramovic is examined.  Included is her exhibit where she stared at
Hunky Dory
Minnie Driver as a music teacher.
Easton's Article
"Primer-esque".
The Details
Shot in Seattle, Redmond, and Kirkland, Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks get mired in suburbia.  Something about a shadowy past too.
Future Weather
Compares uncertainty in weather patterns with shifting family dynamics.
Grassroots
Jason Biggs tries to get a monorail in Seattle.

Today's Photo:

Students attempting to "research" their project.
That's not why I put those samples out, kiddos.
But the picture-with-your-phone is very James Bond.
