Softball is not baseball. I know this. But my swing doesn't. Every time I step to the plate, I have to think:
"Ichiro, not Griffey"
Softball is about making solid contact,
not murdering the ball with every swing.
While we're on the subject, this interview was given when Ichiro was still new to America. I'm pretty sure some teammates taught him this phrase, but it's clear that Ichiro knows what he's doing. All of his teammates say he's hilarious. And he gives fantastic, profanity-laced pep talks in the clubhouse before the All-Star Game.
Ichiro is my hero.
And the weather was nice.
