Day 325 - Dad's Birthday

August 28, 2011

Buying a gift for my father is easy.  All he ever wants is his Starbucks card reloaded.  Celebrating my father's birthday is easy too.  He wants to grill steaks from Costco on the deck and watch tv while he naps on the couch.

No one was prepared to be "camera ready".
So here is what Dad chose to watch as a family on his birthday.

Oprah 25: Behind the Scenes
Say what you want about Oprah, she has a fantastically successful show.  And watching it get made is amazing.  Oprah produced her own finale so other people could relax.  It took her a week to do what other people knock out in a day or two.  Oprah was very humbled and the people who work for her seem genuinely sad to see the show go.

Bridezillas
I am dumbfounded.
I have no response.

The Great Food Truck Race
They don't actually race.  But that would be a great show too.  The trucks set up for a weekend in a particular city.  At the end of the weekend, whoever made the least money is kicked off.  So it's mostly a business show about food.
But it's pretty great.

Oh, and we watched lots of NCIS.

You know, maybe Mom picked everything.

Well played, Mom.
