Day 203 - Triumphant Return of the Bob Loblaw Law Blog

April 26, 2011
Trivia Night at the Three Lions Pub.
Tuesdays - 7:00pm
There were only a few teams playing, and there is a cash buy-in, but the questions were varied and fair.
To give you a taste of the questions, here are two from last night:
Q1:  What river flows through Dublin?
Q2:  Who guest-directed a portion of "Sin City"?
(Answers at the bottom of the post)

Three Lions has good food and drink selections too.  It's a British Pub, so I was required to try the Fish and Chips (They used giant 4oz cuts of fish and served them in a giant basket brimming with chips.  Very satisfying)
Three Lions earns extra British points by carrying Newcastle Brown Ale on tap, the official brew of Newcastle United.

This trivia night gives out prizes for the winners of each round.  Our two-man crew won two separate rounds, netting us all kinds of SOWG (Stuff Only We Get).  We also came in second overall, earning us a share of the cash as well.
Just look at all the winnings!
 (Yes, that's a light-up Guinness keychain)
At the bar, they put the NHL playoffs on the telly (that's what British people call a TV <winky face>).  The Canucks were playing their pivotal Game 7 against the Chicago Blackhawks, who have bounced us from the playoffs the last two years.  We considered watching the end of the game at the bar, but thought better of it and raced home instead.  Just in case it went bad, I wanted to be in a safe place.  We were treated to this moment instead.
GO CANUCKS!!

A1: Liffey
A2: Quentin Tarantino
